If you are thinking of working with a Graphic Designer on a rebrand for your business, this blog is the perfect place to start. In it, I’ll guide you through the steps of my rebranding process so you will be fully versed in what’s involved and ready to jump right in when the time is right.
First off, let’s look at why you might want to rebrand your business and why my rebranding process is perfect for you.
Why rebrand?
Rebranding is perfect for established businesses looking to refresh the face they put out to the world. Perhaps you started with a DIY logo and want to update and expand it for any of the following reasons:
Elevate your business to attract a higher level of clientele
Differentiate yourself from your competitors in the market
Increase your prices by branding yourself as a premium provider
Align your branding with your business goals and values which have evolved since you started out
Connect to where your business is now and where you want it to go, as opposed to where it was when you started
Coordinate your business visuals and communications across all your platforms
Enhance your business aesthetics to match your customer service
Confidently market your message and be proud of your business (you should always be ready to shout about your business, not shy away!)
How does the branding process work?
In just six weeks we will work together to transform your current logo into a full suite of brilliant brand assets which align with your business ambition and reflect what you currently offer to your clients or customers.
I’ll work with you to work out who your ideal audience is, why they buy from you and how your new brand will instil confidence in their opinions of your business. You’ll love your new brand and will want to shout about it from the rooftops!
First, we’ll book a discovery call to work out if we are the right fit for each other.
Next comes the welcome pack – you’ll receive a pack including a FREE Branding Knowledge Guide to get you up to speed on all things branding.
I will ask you to fill in a comprehensive Business Questionnaire which will allow me to get a real insight into your business.
You also have a go at creating a Pinterest board with some ‘likes’
Then we’ll have a kick-off call – 30 minutes to discuss the direction of our project.
I will go away at this point to carefully curate mood boards as a starting point, to get us moving in the right direction.
Then I’ll work on three logo concepts for you to consider.
You’ll pick your favourite and let me know if you want to change anything. This is your one round of amends – the logo will be in black and white at this stage.
Next, we’ll add colour to the logo, providing various colour palettes for you to choose from.
The branding will then be finalised, and I’ll create a refined logo, a sub logo and a brand mark, if applicable. These will be provided in a range of relevant file types (EPS, JPG, PNG, PDF).
I will then provide all the relevant font files I’ve used in the designs so you can install them on your computer and use them in your marketing materials.
Next, we’re onto the Brand Pattern. This is a repeat pattern of bespoke icons which makes a great background for posts, websites, inside covers of brochures, packaging design and more.
I will provide a Brand Guidelines Document – a multi-page document detailing your business’s visual identity, along with rules and guidelines for using your new logo, font type, and brand colour palette on all communications. Your brand bible!
You will also receive a Brand Style Sheet – a one-stop crib sheet summary of your fonts, colours and logos. Dead handy to have near your workstation or pass on to your marketing team.
We will then jump back on a Presentation Call to run through your guidelines and handover of your sparkly new brand assets.
Finally, you’ll receive your Project Handover Pack – a concluding document for the project. This will detail how and where to implement your new branding and assets to instantly improve your brand visuals.
Throughout the project, we will work together to ensure you are happy and comfortable with the work I’m producing on your brand’s behalf. I’m a huge believer in collaboration and the success of your logo and branding hinges on the work we do together. At every stage, I will use the research I did at the beginning of the process to ensure your brand emerges to represent you and your business in the best possible way. And in a way that appeals to your clients too.
If you have any questions, I’m just at the end of an email, phone or DM - let’s chat!
